Game Rules
Nineball (9-Ball) Pool Rules & Mechanics
Nineball (9-ball) is a rotation pool game played with nine object balls numbered 1 through 9 and a cue ball. On every shot, the cue ball must contact the lowest-numbered ball on the table first, but balls do not need to be pocketed in numerical order.
- The Opening Break: The 1-ball is placed at the apex of the diamond rack, and the 9-ball is placed in the center.
- Legal Contact: Failing to strike the lowest-numbered ball first results in a foul, granting your opponent ball-in-hand anywhere on the table.
- Winning Condition: The player who legally pockets the 9-ball at any point during the frame wins the game.
